Local football talent will take on international competition once again for the return of the Cayman Airways Youth Cup, this year focusing on the U13 age group. Set for the 25th through to the 30th June 2018, the tournament will feature 8 international teams from North America and the region.
The tournament is hosted by local club Academy SC and will take place at the Truman Bodden Sports Centre with one group stage being based in Cayman Brac. Organisers say that the participating teams will be announced over the coming weeks. Cayman Airways is continuing its support of local football talent as the tournament’s title sponsor.
“Academy thanks all sponsors who are supporting this year’s event, many of whom have been involved from the outset and continue to recognize the importance of sports initiatives for Caymanian youth. And to those who are involved for the first time this year, many thanks for becoming part of this great initiative,” said Virgil Seymour, Academy Sports Club Technical Director.
In addition to the title sponsor, the tournament is already supported by the following key sponsors: The Ministry of Tourism, Tower, Crighton Properties and CEC together with many other generous supporters who have donated their time, products and services.
