The time really does fly by when you’re having fun. It’s been 2 weeks since you guys last heard from your boy, and I have to say this internship keeps getting better and better. Since we last spoke, I had the pleasure of attending the Cayman Islands Marketing Professionals Association (CIMPA) conference while also keeping busy with the many Tower projects I’m assisting with. The CIMPA conference gave me a new perspective in the marketing sphere, highlighting the importance of storytelling, content and authenticity.

As marketers, storytelling is integral, so I was excited to learn about new innovations and technology that allow brands to operate and communicate in a culturally fluid and authentic manner.

The conference had numerous guests, from both local and international backgrounds. Each guest took an interesting stance, but one which stood out for me in particular was Luis Montero, President of Award-winning agency, The Community. He spoke of the importance of cultural storytelling and how different cultures can be relatable across a global interface. He identified culture as something that embraces ones identity rather than ones diversity and how it is also one of the most relatable and interesting topics to market around. This talk above them all truly made an impact on me and further outlined how exciting marketing is becoming. The CIMPA conference was a really special event to be a part of and gave me insights and ideas that will stay with me throughout my marketing career.

Aside from the CIMPA conference, my fellow intern Stefan and I have been developing our writing and communication skills. Another highlight involved helping with a Tower photoshoot, where we also made our modelling debut! Stefan and I are also collaborating to develop a video for Tower’s intern program in an effort to provide future aspiring marketers with an insight into #TeamTower, and life as a Tower intern.

I hope you all enjoy your long weekend and stay tuned for my final blog post, and our intern video in the next couple of weeks.
