Cayman’s leading creative strategic communications agency, Tower, is delighted to announce its win of three awards in the 2015 Caribbean Advertising Federation’s (CAF) American Advertising Awards.

The agency won a Gold award for its own monthly Tower newsletter in the Newsletter Online category, a Silver award for the Cayman Finance Magazine in the Magazine Design (Entire Magazine) category, and a Silver award for The Wellness Centre Ltd. logo in the Logo Design category.

These accolades cement Tower’s outstanding track record for developing and executing successful marketing communications campaigns and creative design work.

Ms Lynne Byles, Managing Director of Tower, said Tower participated in the CAF awards alongside some of the Caribbean’s best names in advertising.

“We are delighted to receive these prestigious international awards that recognise Caribbean campaigns on a competitive regional stage. We would like to thank our clients for allowing us to collaborate with them on these great projects and to develop work that is not only creative but is strategic in achieving their business objectives,” she said.

“The competition judges described the creative work coming from the Caribbean as exceptional and said they had rarely come across such inspired, breakout work as that of the Caribbean Advertising Federation,” she said. “I feel honored to be part of this amazing and talented industry that each year continues to grow and deliver work of the highest caliber.

This year, a record 995 professional entries and 9 student entries were judged, giving the CAF the most entries in the 4th District for the third year running and for the first time, one of the largest local ADDY competitions in the US. Entries were submitted by 51 different companies representing 7 island nations including US Virgin Islands, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Curacao, Jamaica, the Cayman Islands and Guyana.

Ms Byles said the after looking at the agency’s wide portfolio of projects from the past year, it was decided the Cayman Finance magazine was a logical entry for the awards.

“Last year we received a silver gong for our design of the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism’s Travel Planner magazine,” she said. “Adding this award for the Cayman Finance magazine is especially thrilling as it means we have helped make a real difference in the strategic marketing of the two pillars of Cayman’s economy.”

Mr Jude Scott, CEO of Cayman Finance, said the award was well-earned.

“The Cayman Finance magazine has been an important tool in the promotion and marketing of the Cayman Islands financial services industry. We have distributed it globally through our strong member network, at conferences locally and around the world, and electronically via our website” he said. “Innovation and forward thinking on the Tower team is critically important to enable delivery of a top class magazine.”

Ms Shannon Seymour, Director of The Wellness Centre, said she was honoured to have its logo recognised at this high level.

“In 2014, The Wellness Centre celebrated its 10 year anniversary, so we worked with Tower to redesign our logo with a fresh, new look,” Ms Seymour said.  “Initially, my thought was to only update the colours, but after seeing Tower’s new design concepts, I knew a completely new logo was the right direction for us.”

The American Advertising Federation (AAF) hosts the advertising industry’s most comprehensive and prestigious competition recognizing creative excellence in advertising. The competition is comprised of three tiers starting with local competitions such as CAF which includes entries from across the Caribbean. Tower, along with other winners in the local CAF competition will move on to compete with other winners from the 4th District which includes the entire state of Florida. Winning entries then move to the final tier to compete for top honors in the National American Advertising Awards.
