Following last year’s fantastic success, the 2015 TEDxSevenMileBeach event is set to take place on Wednesday June 10th and organisers are again looking for eloquent presenters who can truly speak to the theme: The Life of an Idea: Plant. Nourish. Harvest.
Taking place at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort, TEDxSevenMileBeach 2015 will again welcome speakers from all walks of life who are able to share with the audience their unique approach to encouraging and promoting great ideas which in turn should stimulate the pooling of knowledge and expertise and promote better community awareness efforts and initiatives.
Marzeta Bodden, TEDx licensee and organiser, said the response from last year’s event – which included an impressive combined 9,800 views of TEDxSevenMileBeach official Talks on YouTube within the first four weeks and livestream viewership from 33 countries and 193 cities – has greatly encouraged her to once again bring together forward-thinking and creative individuals in a bid to promote dialogue and strengthen communication among the population.
“The feedback from attendees and speakers from TEDxSevenMileBeach 2014 was overwhelmingly positive with an incredible 100 percent of those surveyed confirming the event was brilliant or good overall,” she stated. “Not only did attendees take many valuable ideas away with them after the event, many of the speakers have had opportunities to network in other countries and develop international relationships, which means the event has opened exciting doors for them. To feed the enthusiasm for TEDxSevenMileBeach we have doubled the capacity for attendees, so this year there will be space for 200 people looking to attend.”
By way of some background, TEDx is a programme of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organised events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organised TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx programme.
Registration to attend this highly sought-after event opens on April 1st and speaker applications open on February 4th. Volunteers are encouraged to get involved and can apply for a range of positions through the website.
