The countdown begins for one of the most important conferences of the year, the 5th annual Cayman Islands Healthcare Conference, held at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman from 20th to 22nd November 2014. Tenet Healthcare, a supporter of the conference since its inception, is again lending its invaluable support to this year’s event as the Premium Plus and lunch Sponsor.
This year’s conference theme Winning the War Against Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases creates excellent opportunities for local and international speakers to share their knowledge about chronic non-communicable diseases, the effects they have on individuals and the community, and how to both prevent and treat them.
Tenet Healthcare offers one of the largest healthcare networks in Florida, and continues to demonstrate its shared goals of providing access to healthcare-related education opportunities, as well as sharing information with regard to the most current treatment options for patients.
Tenet Healthcare, in addition to being the top sponsor of the event, will have two top healthcare professionals presenting to discuss their chosen topics, as they relate to this year’s theme. Robert Cywes, M.D., Ph.D., who specialises in Paediatric Surgery & Adolescent Bariatric Surgery, will discuss ‘Obesity: Facts vs Fiction’, while Edward Anim-Addo, M.D., Internal Medicine and Chief Medical Officer, will speak on the subject of ‘Global Trends in Type 2 Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome, Obesity and Correlates. Is there an existential threat?’
Mr Craig Bloom, Chief Business Development Officer for Tenet Healthcare’s Florida region, said it is a privilege and honour for Tenet Healthcare to once again be the leading sponsor of the Cayman Islands Healthcare Conference.
“In an effort to ensure that high quality healthcare is available to all, we believe that events such as this are vital as they allow leaders in the healthcare arena to share advancements in their respective fields”, Mr Bloom said. “This sets the stage for further collaboration and our hope is that it will ultimately lead to a healthier community”.
Tenet’s Florida hospitals are a family of ten comprehensive, acute care hospitals operated by compassionate and highly trained healthcare professionals, offering world-class healthcare and specialised centres of excellence. With 5,000 of the area’s most respected physicians and more than 250 awards, Tenet is committed to providing the highest quality care and service to every patient and family.
Hon. Osbourne Bodden, Minister of Health, Sports, Youth & Culture said he is looking forward to this year’s conference and thankful to Tenet Healthcare. “Tenet has supported our conference since the beginning and we thank them for their continued commitment”, Minister Bodden said. “It is because of sponsors such as Tenet that make this conference possible year after year allowing us to offer registration free to all delegates with minimal costs to the ministry”.
There are a variety of sponsorship opportunities available for the conference, including a special showcase for not-for-profit organisations. Sponsorship package details can be found on the conference website at www.healthcareconference.ky or email healthcareconference@tower.com.ky for more information.
