The Chamber Pension Plan will be holding an important meeting for members and employers on Thursday 15th May at 6:30 pm at the Westin Casuarina Resort. This meeting is being held to vote in a new Board of Trustees so all members are encouraged to attend.
The Plan’s Trustees are all volunteers and serve as employee and employer representatives of specific industry sectors – Hospitality and Tourism, Financial and Professional, Industry and Commercial and Self Employed/Voluntary, so everyone’s voice is heard when it comes to input on their pension plan.
Mr Eduardo D’Angelo Silva, current Trustee stated, “The Chamber Pension Plan is a democratically elected plan that puts the decision making of the plan in the hands of our membership. We want to ensure that all members take personal responsibility for such an important choice.”
“Members who may be worried about what is involved to vote for a Trustee will be pleased to learn that doing their part and giving back to their pension plan in this way takes very little time and energy”, Silva said.
In less than an hour, members and employer representatives can attend the meeting and place their vote for who they wish to act as a Trustee, making a fundamental decision to the running of the Plan.
Mr Rod Waddell, another voluntary trustees stated, “If the meeting time doesn’t work for your schedule, you have the opportunity to appoint a proxy who can vote for on your behalf, which simply takes a completed proxy form to be submitted, together with a copy of your passport or driver’s license for identification. This allows everyone’s vote to be counted in the event they are unable to attend.”
