Registration opened today for one of the most innovative and exciting events to take place in the Cayman Islands this year – the TEDxSevenMileBeach conference, but anybody interested in applying for an invitation to attend should know that registration is for one week only and closes on Monday, March 10.
TEDxSevenMileBeach, which takes place on Thursday, April 3 at the Harquail Theatre, will bring together just 100 delegates for the opportunity to engage, connect, and be stimulated by the sharing of ideas that extend far beyond the presentations of speakers and entertainers from Cayman and overseas under the theme ‘Connecting to Possibility’.
TEDxSevenMileBeach is a non-profit event that seeks to bring together an audience across a wide variety of professions and experiences, who will be inspired by the ideas shared at TEDxSevenMileBeach both during and after the event. Attendees should be excited to show up and listen as well as contribute to the conversation. Attendee tickets are US$100.
Applications to attend the event can be made on the event’s website, www.tedxsevenmilebeach.com. Licensee and organiser Marzeta Bodden says the application process and attendance fee are part of the vast majority of TEDx events around the world and are in place to ensure that attendees are passionate about TED and TEDx. She said, “The application form is fairly in depth and doesn’t take the usual format of a conference application. Applications will be reviewed by a TEDxSevenMileBeach Committee. From there, all successful applicants will be invited to purchase tickets to attend.”
Applications open on Monday, 3 March and close on Monday, 10 March. Delegates will be notified of their application status on Monday, March 17 and payment opens on Thursday March 20 and will operate on a first come, first served basis.
TEDxSevenMileBeach is also offering a limited number of tickets for students ages 14 to 18, allowing those 10 delegates to attend at no cost. Student applications also open on Monday, March 3 and close on Monday, March 17.
