Cayman Finance today congratulates the new Cayman Islands Premier on his appointment and expresses its commitment to working jointly with the newly-elected Government, and in particular Minister Wayne Panton, on matters relating to the Cayman Islands’ financial services industry, saying it is the spirit of the public private sector collaboration that has made the financial services industry the success it is today.

“We now live in an even more competitive world in which our competitors have formalized true public private sector partnerships, and we look forward to working closely with the Ministry for Financial Services on addressing the significant global and domestic challenges the financial services industry faces,” said Mr Gonzalo Jalles, CEO of Cayman Finance.

Mr Jalles explained Cayman Finance has been working together with officials in the Ministry for Financial Services, acting as a key consultative body on a number of matters including FATCA and the AIFMD to name a few. “We hope to meet the Minister soon to discuss the working relationship and the way forward for the financial services industry” he added.

“On behalf of our Board and the various financial services’ service providers, we look forward to working with the new Government for the betterment of the industry and the wider Cayman Islands economy”, adds Mr. Jalles.
