The Cayman Islands Health Services Authority (HSA) is pleased to announce that patients at its two main hospitals – the George Town Hospital on Grand Cayman and the Faith Hospital on Cayman Brac, along with the District Health Centres – may now order refills of existing prescriptions online so long as refills are still available on the prescription.

Chief Pharmacist, Mr. Colin Medford states “We have been testing this service with some of our patients and the feedback has been very positive.”

Online refills will be available on valid prescriptions that still have refills remaining and are ready to be collected in 24 hours. If a patient requires a new prescription or there are no refills remaining, they will need to make an appointment to see a doctor.

Lizzette Yearwood, the HSA’s Chief Executive Officer, says this new service is another in a long line of improvements introduced to enhance customer service.

“This service allows patients to simply go online to order a repeat prescription, meaning patients can order their medication from the ease and comfort of their own home. This cuts down on the time and energy wasted in physically going to the hospital’s pharmacy to order a refill,” she confirms. “We are continuously working to improve our service and anticipate that patients will enjoy considerable benefits from these latest efforts. At the HSA we are fully committed to bettering the patient experience.”

Ordering online is easy by visiting their website www.hsa.ky, click on the Pharmacy – Refill Request Form link and then fill out the prescription information form.
