Stefan

Hey all you Tower fans, my name is Stefan Langlois and I’m an intern at Tower.

Currently I’m on summer “vacation” from my first year of pursuing a degree in Economics at Bishops University in Quebec, Canada. Like many young people, I’m still figuring out what I want to do, and in today’s world it seems like the quicker you decide the better off you’ll be. With “finding my passion” constantly on my mind, I decided from a young age to try as many different industries and work environments as I could to help me figure out what I want to do in the future.

So far I’ve worked in Cayman companies such as Al La Kebab, Books and Books, Cayman Music School, CI Precast, Blackbeard’s and the Liquor Outlet. Quite the range! Although I am proud of my experiences so far, when I looked at my resume I noticed something missing – I’ve yet to work in an office environment. So this became my next target for experience. But where? I thought “Well I love the arts; feel like a creative person and academically I’m confident in business… where would I be able to use these skills and interests and get a taste of the professional work environment?” An agency like Tower was the clear answer.

Excited and grateful for the opportunity, I was also nervous. I had been told multiple horror stories from friends who had interned, and I envisioned myself doing coffee runs and printing copies, gaining no real valuable experience.

After an hour on my first day, I could tell Tower was different. In my first week, my pre conceived beliefs were shot down one by one. I was integrated into the company, introduced to all the employees on a personal level and shown exactly what each member does, both together as a team and individually, to ensure they produce a product that ensure the client’s highest satisfaction.

Along with this induction to the agency, I’ve been given tasks that are actually meaningful, gotten involved in team meetings and been asked to assist in activities that the account managers here do on a day to day basis. With this being the case, I really do feel that I could stop my internship today and still walk away with invaluable experience and knowledge of the marketing/communications sector that I would never have been able to gain otherwise.

#TeamTower has welcomed my fellow intern Parker and me into their family and treated us like valuable members of the team, more than just interns. With that being said, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience so far.
