The 2018 Cayman Islands Healthcare Conference has been bolstered by the support of Ironshore Pharmaceuticals & Development, Inc. (“Ironshore Pharmaceuticals”) as a Premium Plus Sponsor for the 18-20 October event.
The conference at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman is being held under the theme “Managing Your Health: The Empowered Patient”. It will cover wide-ranging topics such as the day-to-day management of non-communicable diseases, understanding when health symptoms indicate a trip to the emergency room, as well as developments in technology and its impact on healthcare in the Cayman Islands.
“It is my hope that the conference will provide attendees with as much knowledge as possible to help ensure a healthier population. Technological advances are equipping us with more readily available tools to take ownership of our own health and wellbeing,” said Minister of Health, Environment, Culture and Housing, Hon. Dwayne Seymour, JP, MLA.
Ms. Lizzette Yearwood, JP, Chair of the Conference Planning Committee and CEO of the Cayman Islands Health Services Authority, welcomed the support of Ironshore Pharmaceuticals.
“To have attracted the support of a partner of this calibre is a testimony to the significance of the conference and its growth over the past nine years. We look forward to their presence and what they can share about innovative, patient-centric treatment options that are available,” Ms. Yearwood said.
Based in Grand Cayman, Ironshore is a Pharmaceutical company responsible for managing and directing all research, development and manufacturing activities for its drug candidates. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Toronto-based Highland Therapeutics Inc. and has sponsored the conference in previous years.
“We are excited to once again partner with the organising committee to put on such an important event. We are looking forward to sharing with the public some exciting developments that we have, as we continue to find ways to revolutionise the delivery of healthcare in a modern world,” said David Lickrish, President and CEO of Ironshore Pharmaceuticals.
Thanks to the support from a wide range of sponsors, the Cayman Islands Healthcare Conference will be offered free of cost to attendees. However, in order to ensure the quality of the event, there will be a limited number of tickets available for each day of the conference. These will be issued on a first-come-first-served basis to those who pre-register online. In addition, CME certificates will be available for each presentation.
