Cayman Islands celebrate 30 years of Taste of Cayman Food & Drink Festival

Grand Cayman’s annual Taste of Cayman Food and Drink Festival will celebrate its 30^th anniversary on Saturday, January 27^th, 2018. The island’s largest culinary event hosts over 45 restaurants and bars, 5,000 attendees and dishes out over 18,000 delicious portions of food.

2018’s festival will see Cayman’s top restaurants, bars and other food vendors coming together at the Festival Green, offering up samples of their dishes and drinks and competing for the coveted title of Cayman’s Favorite Restaurant. Taste of Cayman 2018 also includes the hotly contested Heavy Cake and Mixology competitions, alongside live entertainment and new attractions, such as the VIP tent, kids area and experience room.

“Over the years, we’ve witnessed Taste of Cayman Food and Drink Festival evolve from humble beginnings as a chili cook off in a field, to the internationally renowned and hugely popular festival it is today. Cayman is famous for its delicious food and drink and with daily direct flights from across the USA and Caribbean, there’s not a better place to try them all than at Taste of Cayman,” Tiffany Dixon-Ebanks, Executive Director of Cayman Islands’ Tourism Association (CITA), said.

“Taste of Cayman is CITA’s largest fundraiser, with proceeds going towards providing support and services for our members, allowing us to continue to our mission of contributing to a sustainable tourism industry,” Ms. Dixon-Ebanks said.

Many international guests travel to the Cayman Islands annually not only for the pristine beaches and tropical weather, but for the diverse and delicious cuisine, from local fish fry to global favorites. Known as the culinary capital of the Caribbean, Grand Cayman offers a comprehensive range of restaurants, bars and food vendors, with several taking part annually in Taste of Cayman.

This year’s Taste of Cayman will take place on Saturday, 27^th January at the Festival Green, Camana Bay. Tickets for Taste of Cayman are now on sale online at tasteofcayman.org/tickets for only US$50 (CI$40). VIP and child tickets (5-13 years of age) are also available for US$187.50 (CI$150.00) and US$25 (CI$20) respectfully. Flights to Grand Cayman can be found with Cayman Airways, American Airlines, South West Airlines and Jet Blue, among others.
