The Cayman Islands Law Society extends its warmest wishes and congratulations to the six students who are recipients of the Maples and Calder 2015 scholarships.
Ciara Henry, Hailee Robinson, Louis Solomon, Andrea Bodden, Loshana Lopez-Francis and Duane Thompson are pursuing both legal and non-legal degrees at various levels from undergraduate to masters.
Kevin Butler, a Vice President of the Cayman Islands Law Society, said the Law Society sought to support the ongoing efforts of the Cayman Island’s law firms, who provide educational opportunities to local students in the form of scholarships, job training and professional certifications.
“We are incredibly proud of our Caymanian students whose hard work and dedication to their education, has allowed them to pursue their career goals. We also acknowledge and greatly appreciate the generosity of our member law firms, such as Maples and Calder, who provide these opportunities to both legal and non-legal students,” said Butler.
The Law Society wishes the students well on this new chapter of their careers and looks forward to having them return as part of the next generation of the Cayman workforce.
Between 2007 and 2012 member law firms of the Cayman Islands Law Society have sponsored 110 legal scholarships and 203 non-legal scholarships, allowing many students to fulfil their educational aspirations.
