Ben Meade is a young veteran of the media and communications world. Starting his career in radio, he quickly realised he was in his element when helping others stay informed and understand complex issues. That desire spurred a communications career spanning two decades and counting including stops in TV, news agencies, newspapers, and as a communications consultant to political and sporting organisations.
Connecting with clear, yet clever messaging is one of Ben’s fortes. As a BBC-trained journalist, he’s worked at the BBC World Service, BBC Radio Five Live, as well as at the Caribbean Media Corporation and local TV station – Cayman 27. He also picked up a wealth of event management knowledge as a Venue Broadcast and Photo Liaison Manager during the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2007.
When he’s not on the job, Ben immerses himself in sports – whether writing for the love of it, cheering on the Lakers or giving himself indigestion over West Indies cricket. As a former national junior tennis champion in Montserrat (a very long time ago), he still gets on the court regularly to serve some aces against his tennis buddies.
Ben’s a quintessential ‘Man of the World’, which simply means his background is complicated and has connections in several countries. He’s also a dedicated family man to his wife and their four children.
When he has time, he also enjoys a scotch that’s old enough to order its own scotch.
