5 things you need to know – April 27

  1. Are you a fan of jerk chicken? Who isn’t! Taste the island’s best jerk this Saturday at the Cayman Jerk Fest on Seven Mile Public Beach from 12-3pm.
  2. The fifth annual DG 5km Challenge will take place in Grand Cayman this Sunday. Entry is $25 and all proceeds support Meals on Wheels. Keep your eye out for #TeamTower on the route.
  3. Tourism Minister, Hon. Moses Kirkconnell, announced this week Cayman Airways will be flying direct to a city in the western United States early next year. Which city could it be? 
  4. The annual Furball Gala will take place this Saturday at the Marriott. The night will be cirque themed with acrobatic entertainment. Proceeds will benefit the Cayman Islands Humane Society.
  5. A record number of students will be participating in the 15th annual Junior Batabano this Saturday. We can’t wait to see these little humans kitted out in their carnival gear rocking the streets of Cayman.
