We are pleased to announce that Tower won a silver ADDY award for our social media campaign announcing our new staff hires (and a promotion)! The campaign ran across each of our social media outlets (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn), ensuring we reached every audience, with each phase of the campaign being catered to the corresponding social media platform.

The campaign kicked off on Twitter, where each new staff member described themselves within the Twitter limit of 140 characters accompanied by their official work headshot. Here’s what they came up with:

#MeetKirsty I’m a whisky geek, crazy dog lady and sun-worshipper. Also obsessed with food (mainly carbs)

#MeetIly: I’m a(n): Caymanian; foodie; water baby; rotaractor; graphic designer; aunty; baker; soca junkie; optimist

#MeetDelano: I’m a dreamer, designer, tech junkie, CSS goblin and lone male working with eleven women… #WishMeLuck

#MeetAimee: Design and photography are my passion. I love the colour pink, food, music, and all things Apple.

#MeetAshani I am an escapist and a bibliophile. Sarcasm is my second language and I like dogs more than people.

For Instagram, each person was photographed with three items they couldn’t live without. These images were shared along with a brief description of their position and professional/academic history.

On Facebook, we used videos to add an exciting and more intimate/personal element to the campaign. The videos were done interview style, with animation provided by our graphic designer (and one of the features in our new staff campaign) Delano Myers. In the videos, each person was asked different fun questions, such as “What’s the longest you’ve gone without sleep?” or “How long does it take you to get ready?”

The videos were shared on Facebook and uploaded to our YouTube page, as well as being uploaded to the website, bringing us to the next phase of the campaign.

On our tower.com.ky blog section, a full bio of each new staff member was posted, along with their video. Bios included professional and academic background, as well as some general information about hobbies, interests and other cool facts.

These posts on the website were then linked to from our LinkedIn page in an effort to ensure that traffic was driven back to our website. The website post was also linked to in the Facebook captions of every video post for the same reasons. Since LinkedIn is a professional platform, we kept only informationabout academic/professional history for the captions of these posts.
