The 2013/2014 Board of the Junior Achievement of the Cayman Islands programme has recently re-elected Mr Paul Byles as its President, along with several long standing Board members, Vice President Brendalee Scott Novak of Rotary Central joined by other Rotarians, Treasurer Martin Ruben, Susie Bodden, Marilyn Brandt, Mike Donnelly, President of Rotary Dr. Naude Dreyer, Ravee Kapoor, and Larry Tibbetts.  The Chamber of Commerce Members are Wil Pineau, James Tibbetts and Secretary Angelyn Hernandez. Associate Directors are Dominique Chenier, Padraig Hoare, Sara Jan, Kerri Kanuga, Pat Randall and Giorgio Subiotto while new directors have equally received a warm welcome.

“The new Board is delighted to welcome new directors Mrs. Glenda McTaggart, Dr. Desiree Charles,
Ms.Juliet Osbourne and Mr Marco Capelli,” Mr Byles states. “?The success of this youth programme would not be possible without our hard working Board members, several of whom have served for many years. I am very grateful yet again to them for continuing to serve.”

The Junior Achievement programme has now been running for over two decades and has made tremendous strides in forging links between Cayman’s young people and the business community. Youngsters are given the opportunity to establish and run their own company, while under the watchful eye of business people from within the community, helping to guide them in their mission.

“JA relies heavily on the encouragement and goodwill of the community and it is heartening that we have had strong support from a number of individuals from industry who are happy to make their contributions towards this long-established and extremely important programme,” Mr Byles says. “Their efforts mean we will again be able to help to prepare another group of young people for the tough demands of the workplace.”
